The Story
A changing climate can change where life belongs.
Arctic on the Tray portrays a quiet moment in a warming world.
A seal rests on a small piece of floating ice while a tortoise begins its journey toward the Arctic—a symbolic scene inspired by the consequences of melting ice and a changing climate.
The blue textured surface represents the cold Arctic waters, while the two animals create an unexpected contrast: one belongs to the Arctic, while the other represents wildlife being pushed toward unfamiliar environments as the planet changes.
Rather than showing destruction, this piece captures a moment of transition and invites us to pause and think about the world we are leaving behind.
A small ceramic scene with a much bigger story.
Every piece begins with a story. Every story deserves a timeless form.

Artist's Note
Artist's Note
I wanted to tell a story about climate change without showing destruction directly.
The seal represents a world that is losing its familiar ice, while the tortoise moving toward the Arctic represents how dramatically a changing climate can disrupt the natural boundaries that wildlife has depended on for generations.
The unusual pairing is intentional. It asks a simple question: what happens when the world around us changes faster than nature can adapt?
